Yard Waste Overview
The green toter is used for yard waste. Leaves, grass clippings, weeds, bread, kitchen fruit, vegetable scraps, and tree and shrub prunings should be placed in the green toter. Cut tree and shrub prunings small enough to fit inside the container. Extra tree and shrub prunings may be bundled 3'x2' with twine (do not use wire) and placed near the green toter.

To help prevent empty toters from falling and blocking sidewalks after they are emptied, please follow our toter replacement procedures.
Do not put the following in your green yard waste container:
- Hazardous waste
- Plastic bags
- Food products other than bread
- Animal feces
- Lumber
- Dirt or rocks

- Please place toters sideways in the street. As you face the street, place the handle to your left with the right-hand side of the toter parallel with the curb. Your toter should open on the right-hand side.
- Toter lid must be closed.
- Don't block the sidewalk.
- Don't park cars within 3 feet of toters.
- Place toters 3 feet apart.
- Put toters out by 6:00am on pickup day.
- Remove toters from curb as soon as possible after pickup and place them out of view from the street.
